Cuenca

An uncomfortable bus trip from Mancora (Peru) to Cuenca (Ecuador) took 8,5 hours and cost 20 USD.

In the photo above the New cathedral of Cuenca. The historic area of Cuenca is a Unesco world heritage site.

Cuenca is the third largest city in Ecuador with 350 000 inhabitants. Cuenca is located at the height of 2500 meters, typical highest day temperature is 20 degrees Celsius (68 F).

Hostal Turista del Mundo

I spend two nights in Hostal Turista del Mundossa (Hotel Tourist of the World). I paid 10 USD/night for a room with private bathroom and hot water. The address was Calle Larga (Long street) near Hermano Miguel street. Taxi from bus terminal cost only 2 USD.

The place offered the fastest wifi in two months (5 Mbit/s from the restaurant below) and a great view from the 4th floor balcony over the river.
