It took about an hour by bus from Nuweiba to Taba, then 10-15 minutes to walk to the border. Israeli border formalities were more thorough than anywhere else, with an interview about travel plans, especially to Palestinian areas. I told that I’m not interested in politics.
I guess it took about an hour to get through the border. I shared a taxi from the border to Eilat centre (9 km) with German Matias, the taxi cost about 5 euros per person.
I spent a night in Arava hostel dorm, 60 NIS (12 e), air condition, wi-fi, no breakfast or lockers. I could however leave my laptop at rececption.
The building in the photo is a restaurant, that reaches below water. The place seem to be closed.
Eilat was suprisingly beautiful. The water was very clear and the beaches were in public use (not restricted to specific hotels).
After coming from Egypt the Israelis seemed beautiful/handsome. I intented to shoot them with my video camera, but the camera was dead. I have to send it for repair in Finland.
