Two weeks ago I visited first time two most popular sights in Turku, Turku Castle and Turku Cathedral. Turku Cathedral is the Mother Church of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The church was originally catholic and it was consecrated in 1300. The church was originally built of wood, the stone church was built in the end of 14. century.
I did not remember to take any map with me, but I had some addresses written and found everything without problem with the help of Tom Tom navigator. I found free (with parking discs) parking spots.
Most of the visitors at both sights were russian. However, at castle the legends were not in Russian, but in Finnish, Swedish and English.
After seeing the sights I ate at Orikedon Taverna, that is bykebabille.comin reviews the best kebab restaurant in Turku. Kebab with rice was not bad, but not worth moving to Turku.
