I made a 2,5 minutes video about my Felucca sailing on the Nile in Cairo. Felucca is a traditional wooden sailing boat used at eastern Mediterranean Sea and particularly along the Nile.
I rented Felucca for an hour and paid only 70 Egyptian pounds (9 euros) including a tip, I was alone in a boat with seats for 10 passangers.
The Felucca captain seemed very skillful.
Pyramids of Giza
I visited the oldest of the ancient seven wonders of the world, the pyramids of Giza.
On the left the Khafre pyramid and on the right the Khufu (Cheops) pyramid (146 metres), that was the tallest building until the Eiffel tower was built.
It is me and Khafre.
I rode a camel for the first time. It was a litte jumpy ride, but the camel easily went up and down the steep hills.
I paid too much for the camel trip, 500 EGP (63 euros) including the entrance ticket. The trip didn’t incluce even half of the places promised and I couldn’t enter any of the pyramids.
Egyptian museum
If you could visit only one of the most popular sights of Egypt, i.e., pyramids/Valley of the kings/Karnak/Egyptian museum, I would recommend the Egyptian museum, there is much to see, the treasures robbed from the tombs and temples are there.
Photographing is strictly prohibated in the Egyptian museum. So I digged a legal photo from Flick to show an example what it is possible too see inside – the tomb chamber of Tutankhamun.
The entrance was 60 EGP (7,5 euros).
